Overview

Bac Kan – Cao Bang, known for its picturesque and poetic landscapes, including Ba Be Lake and Ban Gioc Waterfall, will captivate visitors. This region is rich in the cultural heritage of the Tay and H’mong ethnic groups, featuring festivals such as Long Tong and Lung Tung, and traditional music like Then, Sli, and Luon, which will undoubtedly stir the hearts of all visitors.

✔️ Explore Ban Gioc Waterfall – the most beautiful waterfall in Vietnam, and the largest waterfall in Southeast Asia. 

✔️ Discover Nguom Ngao Cave – one of the longest and most beautiful caves in Vietnam, rich in Tay ethnic legends. 

✔️ Enjoy the magical scenery of Ba Be Lake in autumn and winter.

  • Day 1 HANOI - CAO BANG - PAC BO CAVE

    Lunch

    Dinner

    06:00: Pickup by car and guide at the Hanoi Opera House and depart for Cao Bang. 

    En route, there will be stops for rest, and guests can have breakfast at the stop (breakfast is at guests’ own expense). Experience famous mountain passes such as Giang Pass and Gio Pass. 

    Lunch: Enjoy lunch at a restaurant on Gio Pass. 

    After lunch, continue the journey to Cao Bang, passing more mountain passes like Khau Khang Pass, Cao Bac Pass, and Tai Ho Sin Pass. 

    15:00: Arrive at Pac Bo and visit the Pac Bo Historical Site (50 km from Cao Bang city). Visit President Ho Chi Minh’s residence and activities during the resistance years from 1941 to 1945. Take photos at Lenin Spring – Marx Mountain, visit Coc Bo Cave, and take photos at milestone number 0 on Ho Chi Minh Road. Return to Cao Bang city. 

    18:30 – 19:00: Dinner at the hotel and check-in. Evening free to explore Cao Bang city at night. Overnight in Cao Bang.

  • Day 2 CAO BANG - TRUNG KHANH - BA BE

    06:30: Check out from the hotel, have breakfast, then board the bus to Trung Khanh – a famous region for Cao Bang chestnuts. Enjoy the scenic beauty of Ma Phuc Pass. 

    09:00: Visit Nguom Ngao Cave (Tiger Cave), one of the most beautiful caves in Northern Vietnam. Located in Gun Village, Dam Thuy Commune, Trung Khanh District, Cao Bang Province, it is set within a mountain, 5 km from Ban Gioc Waterfall. According to the Royal British Cave Research Association in 1995, the cave is 2,144 meters long, with three main entrances: Nguom Ngao, Nguom Lom, and Ban Thuon. Inside are various stalactites and stalagmites with diverse shapes. 

    10:00: Continue to Ban Gioc Waterfall. The waterfall, 53 meters high, is divided into three tiers and is considered one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Vietnam, ranking as the fourth largest waterfall among the top ten most magnificent waterfalls in the world, located on the border between two countries. 

    12:00: Lunch at a restaurant. After lunch, continue the journey to Ba Be (Bac Kan) and visit the famous Phuc Sen knife-forging village with a long-standing tradition. On the way, revisit the mountain passes from Day 1, especially the majestic scenery of the Northeast mountains on Gio Pass. 

    18:00: Arrive at Ba Be. Check-in and rest. 

    19:00: Dinner at a restaurant. In the evening, you can request an additional cultural program, including Then singing and Tay bamboo pole dancing (additional cost). Overnight in Ba Be.

  • Day 3 BA BE LAKE - HANOI

    07:00: Breakfast at the restaurant, followed by relaxation and viewing the lake in the morning mist. 

    08:00: Take a boat tour of Ba Be Lake. Learn about the daily life of the Tay people, and admire the pristine forests with rare trees and wildlife along the lake. The tour continues to famous attractions such as An Ma Temple, Ao Tien, and Ba Goa Island:

    • Ao Tien, over 3,000 m², surrounded by limestone mountains and ancient forests. Here, visitors can see footprints on the rocks and hear the legendary stories.
    • An Ma Temple, which according to legend, during the feudal war between the Le and Mac dynasties, the Mac generals, after losing, fled to Puong Cave and committed suicide there. Moved by their loyalty, locals built a temple for the Mac family, but fearing it might be destroyed by the Le forces, they renamed it An Ma Temple.
    • Ba Goa Island – a small, charming island located in the heart of the lake, associated with the lake’s formation legend. 11:30: Lunch at a restaurant. 13:00: Depart for Hanoi, with a stop to buy local specialties as gifts for family and friends. Expected arrival in Hanoi: 17:00 – 17:30. End of the tour. Farewell and see you again!

Child Pricing:

  • Children under 5 years old, sharing a bed with parents, tour is free; families must cover the child’s expenses. However, only one child under 5 per two adults (sitting on parents’ lap) is free; additional children incur a 50% tour fee.
  • Children from 5 – 6 years old: 50% of adult price, sharing bed with parents.
  • Children from 7 – 9 years old: 70% of tour price, sharing bed with parents.
  • Children 10 years and older: full adult price.
